In 1982, the same year as Wexford Plantation, Long Cove Club was developed as one of Hilton Head Island’s most elite communities.  A smaller neighborhood of only 600 acres, Long Cove has a prime location on Broad Creek across from the Broad Creek Marina.  Exclusively a residential, security-enhanced private community, compared to other “resort-oriented” plantations on Hilton Head, Long Cove is a short drive down the William Hilton Parkway and across from Palmetto Dunes.  The neighborhood is known for the Long Cove Club Community Endowment Fund, which raises money to help some of Beaufort County’s non-profit organizations including Habitat for Humanity, Hospice of the Low Country, Volunteers in Medicine and Deep Well.

   With a 74-slip docking facility leading to Broad Creek—where fishing, crabbing, swimming, and boating all take place—Long Cove Club has no shortage of recreational activities.  An Olympic-size swimming pool, a children’s wading pool, an approximately 14,000 square foot clubhouse with sophisticated dining, and even fresh-water lagoons teeming with bass and brim for the taking are among the top choices for recreation here, and are made available with the annual dues paid by residents.

   Pete Dye designed Long Cove Club’s private golf course, which has been ranked first among golf courses in South Carolina.  Live Oaks, azaleas, marshes and lagoons are abundant. Eagles, alligators, and many other wild life species are and have been spotted around the 18-hole course.

   10 Har-Tru clay courts can be found at Long Cove Racquet Club, and two of them include nighttime lighting.  The tennis facility is home to eight USTA teams for part of each year and accommodates every level of experience from beginner to the most advanced player.
